Join Otis Lumumba and his network of famous songwriters at this special summer workshop delving deep into Congolese musical culture. Here Otis will explain and teach old and new tools of Congo also otis will teach old and new soukous guitar technique.

This three-night programme is designed to provide an educational and enjoyable experience for musicians and songwriters, regardless of the instrument they play or the style of music they write. We look at how music can leave its home territory to go worldwide, and also look at how music is used on TV, radio, online streaming, film soundtracks. We explore how to tell your musical story, build  your skills and make a living from your craft.

On the third day we will be joined by the most legendary names in Soukous – including the great Kanda Bongo Man – who will tell us about their lives in Soukous and how to compose and play songs from this wonderful tradition.
